B1 Intermediate: Ending Statements with Verbs VS Modals

For today's exercise, we will be using the word "but" to contrast the expressions. Lesson 13, Box A.2 and Exercise 4, pgs 132+133 on English Sentence Structure. So, when we need to end a statement with a modal auxiliary, we do not use to. We never use "to" after a modal auxiliary. Look at the first sentences in box A2 and repeat after me:
However, when we want to finish the statement with an action we must use to at the end. Let's read the new pattern out loud. Repeat after me:

Now, let's practice this structure with Exercise 4. It's a substitution exercise. All centences will start with "He didn't go, but..." and we have to finish it with the correct modal or action with to. I will say my part, give you a moment to give the full answer out loud and then say it myself so you can compare and repeat for correction.
